2010 EXIT Realty Convention

I don’t know how they improve upon perfection year after year but it keeps me coming back for more! This year was no exception with the line up of Explosive guest speakers and trainers. I always leave supercharged, ready to attack a new year and increase my production from the previous year.

In addition to the great speakers, trainers, vendor’s, and corporate office, we also get to treat this week as a reunion were I can visit with my brothers and sisters that I have grown close to in the EXIT family. The camaraderie that exists within EXIT associates cant be matched with any other organization in the real estate industry.

As the convention nears an end, the Presidents Ball is last on the schedule. The Presidents Ball is a formal extravaganza that is suspenseful, magical and the attendees are kept on the edge of their seat. Throughout the evening 22 EXIT associates are selected for a chance to win an $80,000 drawing. I have already got what I came to the convention for, but I managed to get selected in the first round of (10) ten. At 9 p.m. (7) seven more EXIT associates were selected. At 10 p.m. the final (5) five are selected, for a total of 22 associates. The evening continues and everyone is having the time of their life, dancing the night away. At the stroke of Midnight, everyone is seated and the 22 associates selected for the drawing are up on the dance floor for the final drawing. I’m just thinking about winning a new high end watch and getting my picture in the next EXIT Recruiter.

EXIT CEO/Founder, Mr. Steve Morris announces that he’s going to narrow the 22 down to 5. Amazingly, I get selected #3 of 5. I’ve actually got a chance to win. He then narrows the 5 down to 3 and I get selected #3 of 3. I can’t believe what’s happening here, I’ve never won anything in my life bigger than a meal at McDonalds. My heart is about to pound out of my chest as I wish the other 2 finalist good luck. Steve's wife, Cathy draws the winning ticket. The suspense is killing me. Then I here those magic words, Steven Richards. “Hey, that’s ME“.

I’m so excited and everyone around me is excited for me. My heart is pounding even harder and I don’t know how to act. “I am definitely going to be in the EXIT Recruiter now“. I then try to compose myself as I approach Mr. Steve Morris as he presents me the brief case with my award. Life doesn’t get much better than this. I didn’t sleep all that night and I’m still replaying the film in my head of that evenings events.

Four days have past now and I’m back in Tennessee attending to my business and still can’t believe what has happened. I start the day off with some James Brown (I feel GOOD). That song is now burnt on my brain and I don’t want to get it out. For now the winnings will be saved toward eventually purchasing my own franchise, which is a goal that I had already established. Until the next convention, I plan to grow my business yet another 50% and sponsor at least 5 agents into our family.
